This experience is compounded for LGBTIQ+ people in prison, as their lives and freedoms are further restricted by the prison industrial complex.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">For this week\u2019s Pride Connects, we will be introducing the topic of trans experiences of prison and writing postcards to send to trans prisoners currently experiencing isolation.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">With \u2018Pride Connects\u2019, we strive to connect the local LGBTIQ+ youth, activists, and all those interested in the political side of Pride(s) and LGBTIQ+ Human Rights Struggles in Slovenia and across the world.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">We know that being an openly LGBTIQ+ person and walking down any public space is a political act, and we know it is not easy &#8211; so we want to create a safe(r) space for all LGBTIQ+ people and a place of empowerment.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>As LGBTIQ+ people, we are often subjected to discrimination, abuse and loneliness.
